Club selection of February 2019 - The second in our 2019 offering. A Shou from one of our favoured regions, Bulang Mountain. Called the Dawn Driver simply because it is one of those teas that gently eases in the first light of day with smooth clean nutty tones and a ‘not-so-intense-blast’ of stimulants. Harvested from 50-70 year old tea bushes at 1300-1500 metres, the Dawn Driver is our first Shou of the New Year. Easy drinking and ideal for blending in flowers or any oils that you might like to enhance the tea, the Dawn Driver is a tea that one can play with in terms of strength of infusion. A smooth digestive offering for the morning. Discover this Bulang Shou tea even further with Jeff.
Tasting Notes - Easy drinking and easy to dictate strength to, this clean and nutty Shou has been dry stored so it isn’t carrying the damp earth or overly pungent tones that humidity can add. Play with both the amount of leaves and the infusion times of this Bulang Dawn Driver as this can alter both the feel in the mouth and the effect on the body. Long, clean, and nutty tones in a tea that we feel is a perfect welcoming to the day’s first light.
