September: Nannuo Cooked (Shou) Puerh

Club selection of September 2015 - A soft and easy oxidized ripe Puerh from the mountain region that is known for great neutral Puerhs from the Hani minority. It is one of the smoothest teas that Jalamteas currently offers. This particular Nannuo is from near the village of Zhu Ling and is a tea for the ‘right-now-anytime’ category. While not quite as mellow as the Jing Mai, this is an tea to be taken in the morning before a meal. Discover this Nannuo tea even further with Jeff.

Tasting Notes - Because of the general nature of the teas from the Nannuo Mountain region, and the fact that the ripe Puerhs are generally softer and lacking in some of the vegetal astringency, this tea is a classic ‘mild’ Puerh. It is recommended to drink the tea sooner rather than later. It is a smooth tea that will only further weaken over time so we encourage enjoying it now. It is a tea that can benefit from tinkering with infusion times and if one prefers a slight jolt, simply increase the time slightly. A great tea for the morning, it also refreshing after being put into a mason jar, refrigerated and taken cold.
