Club selection of June 2016 - Strength yet again in this Zhang Lang offering from a tea that has many who tout it as being a favourite. Amongst our client base, Zhang Lang is a tea that often is the most commented upon and desired. This particular offering is a little special in that it is a Spring offering which is something rarely available to us. High altitude bushes at over 1700 metres and great consistent humidity levels of the region (80%+) make for spectacular natural conditions. The Bulang harvesters are one of the original tea cultivating peoples and it gives us a great satisfaction to be able to offer up this classic once again, albeit in a different harvest. Tasting Notes - At our recent attendance of the Toronto Tea festival, we served a few hundred cups of tea and one of the comments that we had consistently from sippers, clients and tea addicts alike was how impressed they were with Zhang Lang’s staying power after multiple infusions. It is a phenomenal tea in terms of how many infusions can be wrung from a serving of its leaves. This hints at not only great production but also the quality of the leaves and bushes themselves. Zhang Lang is a region of almost complete mountain country where the soil, water, and drainage is ideal. Slight hints of malt in the tea may be noted.
