Club selection of March 2016 - Another first time offering from us, this Manzha selection is a tea we didn’t even know about until a year ago. Fresh with strength the area is a Dai minority stronghold that Jeff would often pass on his way deeper into the tea regions. Lovely tea bushes interspersed with some forest areas exist and the tea, though minimal in harvest amounts, was excellent. This tea is usually simply consumed by locals so we decided to change the processing slightly and offer it up. Discover this Manzha tea even further with Jeff.
Tasting Notes - When Jeff first tasted Manzha’s teas, they weren’t great in terms of the production aspect. Inconsistent and a little ‘young’ but the raw materials were great. Now with more consistent frying the teas, we think, are ready for that next step of being introduced. This tea can use heavier infusions and it is sometimes a good idea to simply brew a strong serving and sip it a few times letting oxygen into the mouth to get an impression of the flavor values.
