Club selection of November 2016 - A great tea to set aside for months – or a few years – and let develop or to sip in the very present tense. Long finishes with full flavours that come out in successive infusions. This selection comes from the fringes of Manyue village and though we’ve offered this village’s teas before, this is a summer 2015 offering as opposed to an autumn harvest. Leaves from this offering all come from 30-45 year old bushes and there is a great ratio of young buds to older leaves within the cakes which you’ll be able to see when breaking apart the cake. This is one of the classic Puerh tea mountains and regardless of weather or markets, Bada teas generally sell well in the specialty Puerh markets year upon year. Tasting Notes - A clean and clear tea that has been produced well and consistently, this Bada Manyue offering starts to hum after a couple of servings, though we don’t recommend trying to infuse the leaves over about 10 times. While there will be flavours to wring out, the notion of trying to force too many infusions out of a quality tea doesn’t always work. This Bada will age very well as it has strength and balance and carries some nice forest herb tangs that will settle with time, though it will have softened every so slightly from its Summer 2015 harvest time. Great tea for the here and now.
