Club selection of October 2016 - We thought we’d bring in the cooler months of the year (at least here in the northern hemisphere) with a tea with some strength rather than floral subtleties. High altitudes at close to 2,000 metres, remote tea fields and great raw materials, our Meng Song Sheng Puerh offering is a tea that carries long in the mouth with strength and long flavor notes. The Hani people of Meng Song take pride in their teas and have a history of producing excellent ‘old tree’ teas as well as this younger bush selection from 30-45 year old bush leaves. Tasting Notes - Known for strength and long flavor notes, Meng Song teas carry some wonderful force. As always, it depends on the makers and on the care given and of course the raw materials. The leaves of this Meng Song offering are from younger bushes and have been almost entirely sun dried. Some teas are dried almost entirely in the shade and others are dried in an even sun-shade ration. Our Meng Song has a deep flavor profile and is less ‘floral’ than many other Puerhs. A good tea to stimulate and to age.
